After the rituals comes the party. An Indian wedding reception in Windsor usually means hundreds of guests, a grand entrance, choreographed performances, emotional speeches and a dance floor that doesn’t empty until the DJ is told to stop. A reception photographer needs to keep up with all of it.
Moments we plan for
- Couple portraits before guests arrive, while outfits and makeup are fresh
- Décor and details: stage, centrepieces, cake and lighting before the room fills
- Grand entrance: fog, sparklers, cold sparks, bhangra or a full choreographed number
- First dance and family dances
- Speeches and toasts, with reactions from the couple and parents
- Cake cutting
- Open dance floor, from aunties and uncles to the kids sliding across the floor
Lighting a banquet hall
Most Windsor receptions happen in banquet halls with coloured uplighting, dark ceilings and moving lights. We use off-camera flash and low-light-capable gear so faces stay clear while the atmosphere stays moody and cinematic.
Big rooms, big guest lists
With multiple photographers and videographers, we can cover the stage, the head table and the crowd at the same time, so no performance or speech is missed.
Film the energy
Receptions make incredible footage. Your highlight film can open with the grand entrance and end on the last song, and the speeches are captured in full for your feature film.
Planning tips
- Share your run-of-show with us and your DJ or MC
- Schedule couple portraits during cocktail hour or right before entrances
- Ask your venue about cold spark or sparkler rules early
