Newborn Photographer in Windsor: Capturing the First Weeks

Newborns change almost daily. The tiny fingers, curled toes and sleepy expressions of the first few weeks disappear fast, which is why so many parents book a newborn photographer in Windsor before their baby even arrives.

Best timing

For posed, sleepy newborn images, 5 to 14 days old is ideal. Babies are still sleepy and curl up naturally. Lifestyle sessions, where we photograph your family interacting at home, can happen any time in the first couple of months.

Tip: book during pregnancy with an estimated due date. We’ll finalize the exact day once your baby arrives.

Lifestyle at home

We love in-home newborn sessions. Your nursery, your bed, your living room: these are the spaces your baby will grow up in. We capture feeding, cuddles, siblings meeting the baby and quiet moments that feel real.

Safety first

Your baby’s safety and comfort always come before any shot. We keep the room warm, follow baby’s cues, never force poses, and always have a parent close by.

What to prepare

  • Keep the room warm (babies sleep better that way)
  • Feed baby shortly before the session
  • Wear neutral, soft colours for family shots
  • Have a few meaningful items ready: a blanket from grandma, a name sign, a cultural keepsake

Include family

Siblings, grandparents and even pets can join. Multi-generation shots with grandparents holding the baby are often the most treasured.

FAQ

How long is a newborn session?
Usually two to three hours, with breaks for feeding and settling.

What if my baby is awake the whole time?
That’s okay. Awake, alert images are just as precious.

Can I book maternity and newborn together?
Yes. Ask us about combining both.
